Better Than Sex Fruit Salad

- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, well drained
- 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) fruit cocktail, drained
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, halved and drained
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup sour cream full-fat preferred
- 8 oz whipped topping, thawed
- 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut optional
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
Drain all canned fruit thoroughly. Press crushed pineapple through a fine strainer to remove as much liquid as possible.
Mix sour cream and whipped topping together in a large bowl until smooth.
Fold in all drained fruit, marshmallows, coconut, and nuts if using. Stir gently to keep fruit pieces intact.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Stir gently before serving and adjust creaminess with extra whipped topping if desired.
- Drain fruit longer than you think necessary to prevent a watery salad.
- Do not use fresh pineapple - the enzymes will dissolve the marshmallows.
- Best served within 48 hours of making.
- Do not freeze - texture does not hold after thawing.
