Measuring spoons
- 4-5 pieces fresh red raspberries or frozen, thawed
- 1 teaspoon raw honey manuka preferred
- ½ whole fresh lemon juiced (about 1 tablespoon)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds black or white
- 1 ½ cups cool filtered water
- as needed ice cubes for serving
- 1 sprig fresh mint for garnish, optional
Add raspberries, raw honey, and fresh lemon juice to a clean glass jar. Mash thoroughly with a muddler or fork until berries break down completely and combine with honey and lemon.
Add chia seeds to the jar, then pour in cool filtered water. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds to prevent clumping.
Let rest for 1 minute, then stir again, scraping the bottom of the jar. Repeat this process one more time after another minute to ensure even hydration.
Secure the lid tightly and shake well. Let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for best results.
Stir once more before drinking. Add ice cubes if desired and garnish with fresh mint and extra raspberries.
- Stir frequently during the first few minutes to prevent clumping
- Overnight soaking produces the best texture and flavor
- Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days in sealed glass jars
- Add more water if drink becomes too thick during storage
- Adjust honey and lemon to taste based on raspberry sweetness
