For the Cake Batter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk whole or 2%
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
For the Cinnamon Swirl
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
- 2 tbsp milk add more for thinner consistency
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, eggs, and melted butter. Mix until smooth and combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
In a separate bowl, mix together melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth. Spoon the mixture over the batter and swirl gently with a knife.
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes.
For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth. Drizzle over the warm cake before serving.
For an extra indulgent touch, add chopped pecans or drizzle caramel sauce on top. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
