- 8 slices soft white sandwich bread
- 8 slices American cheese or cheddar any good melting cheese works
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder optional
Flatten each bread slice with a rolling pin until thin and pliable.
Place one cheese slice on each bread slice, leaving a small border at one edge.
Roll each slice tightly and press gently to seal the seam.
Mix softened butter with garlic powder and brush over each roll up on all sides.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place roll ups seam-side down and cook 2 to 3 minutes per side, turning until all sides are golden and crispy.
Serve immediately while cheese is melted and warm.
- Always start seam-side down in the pan to seal the roll.
- Keep heat at medium to avoid burning before cheese melts.
