  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced Also adds great flavor.
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped Use as a garnish and ingredient.

  • 2 cups cooked rice (jasmine, basmati, or brown rice) Use any rice you prefer.

  • sesame seeds For garnishing.
  • sliced cucumber For garnishing.
  • kimchi For garnishing.
  • pickled vegetables For garnishing.
  • bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, or spinach Optional vegetables for added nutrition.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the rice using your preferred method (stove, rice cooker, or Instant Pot).
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary, then add minced garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
  • Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper, and let simmer.

Assembly

  • In a bowl, start with a base of rice, layer with the beef mixture, and add any optional vegetables.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and any other toppings like kimchi or a fried egg.

Serving

  • Serve the Korean Ground Beef Bowl warm.

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove until heated through.
