Oven
- 1 cup diced ham, cooked
- 2 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese divided
- 1 green onion finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce adjust to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 9-inch deep dish pie crust unbaked
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F. If ham is not pre-cooked, sauté in a skillet for 3-5 minutes until lightly browned and moisture evaporates. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and lump-free. Add cooked ham, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until evenly combined.
Unroll pie crust and press into a 9-inch deep dish pie pan. Crimp edges if desired. Transfer ham and cream cheese mixture into crust, spreading evenly.
Sprinkle half the cheddar cheese and all chopped green onion over the ham mixture.
In the same bowl, whisk together eggs, sour cream, and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper. Pour custard mixture over ham and cheese layers.
Top with remaining cheddar cheese. Place on center rack of oven.
Bake for 55-65 minutes until center is just set (should jiggle slightly but not look liquid) and top is golden brown. If edges brown too quickly, tent loosely with foil.
Remove from oven and rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow filling to set fully.
- Let quiche rest 10 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts
- Make ahead: Assemble night before, refrigerate, bake straight from fridge adding 5-10 minutes
- Store leftovers in refrigerator up to 4 days, reheat at 325°F for 15-20 minutes
- Freezes well: Wrap cooled slices tightly, freeze up to 2 months
- Substitute ham with cooked bacon, sausage, or shredded chicken
