  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • sliced green onions, for garnish

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mirin (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant.
  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, mirin, sesame oil, and ginger.
  • Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir to coat the beef evenly.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, stirring until glossy and smooth.
  • Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Add chili flakes for heat or pineapple for sweetness.
